Literacy Mid-South's Read901 is a Shelby County-wide initiative on one of the most important indicators of student success: grade-level reading proficiency by the end of third grade.
Read901 combines the strength of community-based organizations, nonprofits, funders, city agencies, and corporations to ensure the common outcome of every Shelby County student reading on grade level by the end of third grade.
Read901 aims for 90% of 3rd grade Shelby County students to be reading on grade level by 2025 in alignment with Shelby County School's Destination 2025 agenda. Read901 mobilizes the community to commit and take action on four focus areas of change and impact that we know contribute to grade-level reading proficiency:
* Out-of-school time
* School Readiness
* Family Engagement
* School attendance
